Kerala

I was in Kerala, in Southern India, for few weeks, doing an Ayurvedic retreat and I had the chance to visit some few places: the Backwaters, the Kottur Elephant rehabilitation centre and Trivandrum.

Here I caption some of the images you find down.

The Elephant Rehabilitation center is run by the government and aims to protect and heal a group of Asiatic Elephants. I could have a close encounter with them and watch them taking their morning bath and eating their breakfast.

Kerala Backwaters are a chain of lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast of Kerala. I took a picturesque boat ride in the lagoon lined up with palm trees and full of birds. I could also see some local daily life along the rivers.

In Trivandrum there was a beautiful palace (but no pics allowed) and a nice Hindu temple (foreigners not allowed...) so I could just take some pictures of kids coming out from their prayers.

In the Palace there was also a breeding of Vechur Cow, a rare kind of cow local to Kerala. they are much smaller than the "regular" cows and their milk is believed to have medicinal qualities.

Then man in the white shirt read my palms and obviously I have a very bright an amazing future in front of me..so he said :-)

My other friend helped me to chose fabrics for my made-to-measure shirts (done in 2 days!)

You also have a picture of dancers (mobile pic so the quality isn't that good) and from the local beach life.
